India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has thrown his support to Neeraj Chopra, who is aiming to win his second Olympic Gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Haryana-born javelin throw ace is the reigning Olympic and world champion. At the delayed 202 Tokyo Games he clinched gold and became the first Indian to win a medal in an athletics event at the Summer Olympics.
Pant recently took to X (formerly Twitter) and made an exciting offer for his followers. The Indian cricketer announced that if Neeraj wins the gold medal at Paris, he will award INR 1,000,89 to one lucky winner who likes and comments the most on his post. In addition, he promised that he would be providing flight tickets to the top 10 users who engage with the post the most.
“If Neeraj chopra win a gold medal tomorrow. I will pay 100089 Rupees to lucky winner who likes the tweet and comment most . And for the rest top 10 people trying to get the atttention will get flight tickets . Let’s get support from india and outside the world for my brother,” Pant wrote on X.
Neeraj entered the Paris Olympics following his win in the Federation Cup in India in May and the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku in June. Meanwhile, at the Doha Diamond League, his first competition in 2024, he finished second with a season’s best of 88.36m.
Czechia’s Jakub Vadlejch is the biggest threat to the Indian star at the Paris Olympics. Vadlejch, who recently showcased his prowess by winning the European Championship, has consistently finished behind Neeraj in major events, including Tokyo 2020 and the 2022 and 2023 World Championships. However, he defeated the 26-year-old at the 2023 Zurich Diamond League and again at the Eugene finals. Additionally, he also finished above the reigning Olympic champion at the Doha Diamond League this year.
