Indian Test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma has been gearing up for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. A recent video sees Rohit engage in strenuous activities in the gym, including treadmill runs, weight training and also jogging in the park.
Although his participation in the first test remains uncertain, he is expected to be available for the remaining four tests. The key reason for Rohit’s uncertainty is due to the birth of his second child.
As per reports, Rohit has been using facilities of Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and Reliance Corporate Park (RCP) for training ahead of the much-anticipated series.

Rohit Sharma PR team also posted a photo on Wednesday, where the veteran batter can be seen honing his skills at the Reliance Corporate Park. Rohit will likely make his decision clear on his return only after attending the aforementioned reasons.
“There is no clarity yet on his departure. It all depends on how things unfold on the personal front. He is doing what any father would at this stage, which is to stay with his wife and family. But at the same time, he is ensuring to be well-tuned for the Test series and will be batting at every possible opportunity in Mumbai,” a report in Times of India quoted a source as saying.
Abhishek Nayar shares his take on Australia test series
In a video posted by the BCCI, Indian assistant coach Abhishek Nayar has shared his opinion regarding the tough challenge for the players on Australian pitches. Nayar revealed that senior players like Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin are guiding the youngsters on how to fair well against the Australian team.
“It’s one of the toughest challenges for an Indian cricketer, coming here and overcoming it. I think Gauti Bhai (Gautam Gambhir) had a chat with the boys just before we started here. Some of the senior boys as well such as Booms (Jasprit Bumrah), Virat, Ash (Ashwin) all having you know chat with the guys, how first they came here as youngsters with a lot of seniors around. And how they sort of felt that once you finish the Australia series, you go back as a better cricketer.”
“I think a lot of the young boys are really keen and raring to go and hopefully make a name for themselves by the end of this tour,” he added.
The first test between India and Australia kicks off on November 22 at Optus Stadium in Perth. Currently, the Indian team is training at the WACA Ground in Perth, which is close to the venue and boasts a similar surface.
