Virat Kohli has revealed his favorite knock in Australia in an interaction with Mohammed Siraj ahead of BGT 2024/25.

In a recent interaction with Mohammed Siraj, Virat Kohli has disclosed his favorite knock in Australia ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT). The fans and cricket fraternity are keenly awaiting for the five-match test series, which kickstarts on November 22 in Perth.

BCCI uploaded an entertaining video, titled, ‘Ask the Next One’, which saw the Indian players asking themselves questions regarding the tour or general topics.

During the clip, Siraj can be seen asking Kohli about his favorite knock Down Under. The 36-year-old responded by saying:

“My best knock in Australia is definitely my 100 at Perth in the 2018/19 series. I thought that was the toughest pitch I played on. It was great to get a 100 on that wicket.”

Kohli pointed out his impressive 123-run knock at the Perth Stadium during BGT 2018. His efforts helped the Indian team lessen the first-innings lead awarded to Australia. However, the hosts managed to win the game by 146 runs, as Nathan Lyon took a total of eight wickets.

The veteran batter will return to the same venue for the opening test, and is expected to be among the key run-scorers for India. Given Kohli’s track record, his form will be crucial for the Indian team to prevail over their opponents on tough surfaces.

“You don’t write off champions” – Nathan Lyon expresses admiration for Virat Kohli

Australian spinner, Nathan Lyon hailed Virat Kohli’s record across all the formats. He feels it will be challenging to dismiss Kohli, despite being him in bad form. Further, Lyon thinks Kohli and Steve Smith are the finest batters of their era, owing to their consistent performances.

“Look at his record out here. Overall, look at his record. You don’t write off champions. I’ve got nothing but respect for Virat. I want to get him out, there’s no point in hiding behind that, but it’s challenging. Him and Smithy (Steve Smith) are probably the best two batters in our last era of this last decade. It’s been pretty amazing competing against him so many times,” Lyon told reporters ahead of the Perth Test.

Meanwhile, Lyon has emerged as the finest bowler in the BGT history with 116 wickets in 26 games. Overall. the right-arm spinner has bagged 530 wickets in 129 Tests, with 24 five-wicket hauls. It will be crucial for the Indian team to fare safely against a quality spinner like Lyon to gain success in the series.
