The International Cricket Council (ICC) calls an emergency meeting to settle the Champions Trophy venue issue. Pakistan was to host the event but India has refused to travel to Pakistan. Since then, there has been a lot of talks about the
Champions Trophy.
Earlier reports were that the tournament would be played in a hybrid model. But, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) refused to accept that. They also said that Pakistan would withdraw from the tournament if it moved out of Pakistan.
Many former Pakistani cricketers and people from the PCB criticised India for their stance. The ICC said that the Champions Trophy is not possible without India. They also had to ask the PCB to stop making any comments against India.
BCCI and PCB to attend emergency meeting organized by ICC for Champions Trophy
As mentioned earlier, the ICC has called an emergency meeting regarding the tournament. Members/representatives from the BCCI and the PCB will join the meeting. The main agenda of this meeting is to finalise a solution to host the marquee event.
The tournament’s schedule was to be announced with 100 days left for the tournament but has been delayed due to this tense situation between BCCI and PCB.
