India’s throwdown specialist Raghu has made a big name for himself in Indian cricket. However, his fame is nearly unheard of for the police officials who were on duty in Nagpur ahead of the first ODI.

Initially assumed to be a fan, Raghu was stopped by the cops at first and was refused entry into the team hotel. From a distance, a group of fans giggled while filming the entire incident which portrayed how Raghu was trying to convince the policemen to let him in.

Raghu was traveling with the Indian team in the team bus which was enroute to the Nagpur hotel. Upon arrival, the Indian players passed through without facing any difficulties but Raghu was stopped and was prevented by the cops from joining the Indian team.

He was seen trying to convince the cops that he was a member of the support staff. A brief moment of confusion ensued and after a while, the policemen on duty were convinced that he was indeed a key member of the Indian squad and allowed him to pass through eventually.

More about the throwdown specialist

Raghu hails from the southern Indian state of Karnataka and is known for firing express throwdowns. He is a key figure in Indian cricket and is often spotted during the national side’s net practice sessions.

Raghu’s association with the Indian team began in the year 2011 when he joined the national side as a throwdown specialist. To date, Raghu would have probably delivered at least 1 million balls during practice sessions over the last decade. It takes immense courage to face up to speeds of 150 kph. When Raghu holds a sidearm, no other throwdown specialist in the world can match his speed.
