Former batter Kevin Pietersen returned home with a special gift for his son after serving as a commentator in the India-England series. The 44-year-old got a Virat Kohli-signed Indian jersey for his 14-year-old son Dylan Blake, who is also a big cricket fan.

Notably, Pietersen engaged in an animated interaction with Kohli after the completion of the first ODI game in Nagpur. Although, Kohli didn’t take part in the game due to knee issue, he was seen having fun with players and Pietersen.

Kevin Pietersen feels the jersey perfectly fitted Dylan and captioned the post as:

“Got home and gave @dylanpietersenphotography a gift from @virat.kohli and it goes straight on! Fits like a glove. Thanks buddy!”

The note on the jersey had a special message from Virat Kohli, which was read as:

“To Dylan, with best wishes”

Pietersen and Kohli have played together for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 2009-10 seasons. The 2009 edition saw the franchise emerging as the runner-up, however, Pietersen played only six games in the season and didn’t take part in the playoffs.

Kevin Pietersen suggests Virat Kohli to watch Joe Root

Kevin Pietersen also shared his take on Virat Kohli’s dismissal against Adil Rashid in the third ODI fixture in Ahmedabad. The 36-year-old was looking in good rhythm, before Rashid induced his thin edge with a flighted delivery and sent him packing for 52 off 55.

After the first innings, Pietersen told the broadcasters that Kohli shouldn’t be overcommitting on the front foot, and instead should have played it towards the off-side, which could have helped him to play a big knock.

“He shouldn’t be getting out to that ball. He’s a much better player than that. And he will be kicking himself. That ball is bowled slowly through the air. So he shouldn’t have been over-committed on the front foot. He should have played back to it. He should have punched it into the offside, and he would still have been batting and he probably would have gone on to get a big score,” he said.

Further, Kevin Pietersen feels Virat Kohli should learn from Joe Root, who has been impressive with his stance on similar balls to avoid gifting the bowlers with his wicket.

“He shouldn’t be giving Adil Rashid that chance to get his wicket. You watch Joe Root. He will never be over-committed on the front foot like that. No way.”
