Day 4 of the ongoing second Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh saw Babar Azam, a batter from Pakistan, get out for cheap runs. The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is hosting the two-match series.
When Babar Azam walked into bat at number five, Pakistan was in trouble at 47 for three runs and Khurram Shehzad was promoted as a night watchman the previous day. He started with a couple of drives to get off the mark, but got nervous when his captain Shan Masood got out at 62 for four wickets.
Later on Babar Azam followed suit and was dismissed first ball on 19th over of the game. This happened during Nahid Rana’s second over where he had bowled just once before. Babar wanted to play it towards covers but thick edge directed it straight into Shadman Islam’s hands at first slip.

Rana also bowled out the former Pakistan captain in the first Test.
Pakistan is in a tough spot in the second Test against Bangladesh in 2024
Having taken the bat first, Pakistan managed a reasonable score of 274 on account of the half centuries from Saim Ayub (58 off 110), Shan Masood (57 off 69) and Salman Ali Agha (54 off 95). Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taskin Ahmed were the pick of Bangladeshi bowlers taking five wickets and three wickets respectively.
The start of Bangladesh’s innings was very turbulent as they collided with six wickets at just 26 runs in Day 3 surprising everyone. However, Litton Das (138 off 228) along with Mehidy Hasan Miraz (78 off 124) were able to pull out their visitors from trouble before they eventually all got out at 262 runs. As such, Pakistan had a 12-run lead led by Khurram Shahzad who took six wickets.
Towards the end of the day three, Pakistan lost two wickets. Saim Ayub and Shan Masood began day four well but with only one ball to go before lunch on day three Taskin Ahmed got rid of Saim Ayub; then Nahid Rana dismissed his skipper Shan Masood along with Babar Azam and vice-captain Saud Shakeel as well.
