Rinku Singh blasts 39 runs from just 12 balls In the UP T20 League 2024

Rinku Singh, the captain of Meerut Mavericks, displayed his batting skills in the 14th match of Uttar Pradesh T20 League on September 1 against Lucknow Falcons at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

Due to rain, the match was curtailed to 11 overs. The Mavericks won the toss and opted to bat first after winning the toss. In six overs, openers Akshay Dubey and Swastik Chikara had an alliance of 45 runs before Akshay was compelled to go out of action, scoring 20 runs off 17 balls with three boundaries.

It was then that Rinku Singh came onto the field and commenced his innings with a four. With a strike rate of 325, the left-handed batsman exhibited an incredible performance, with 39 runs from just 12 balls, comprised of three boundaries and four sixes.

Meanwhile, Swastik Chikara stayed not out with 75 runs from 36 balls, including four fours and eight sixes, leading Meerut to a total of 142/1 in their 11 overs.

Samarth Singh’s stellar play wasn’t enough to save Rinku Singh’s Meerut Mavericks from defeat

Using the DLS method, Lucknow Falcons were required to chase after 154 runs in 11 overs. For the first wicket, openers Harsh Tyagi and Samarth Singh made an aggressive start and posted 95 runs off just 39 balls. The Meerut team got their first breakthrough with Harsh being dismissed by Zeeshan Ansari in the seventh over. 

He accumulated 49 runs faced with 22 balls that included six boundaries and two maximums. For Lucknow, Samarth Singh was exceptional as he scored 69 runs from 27 deliveries comprising of nine boundaries along with four maximums. 

In addition, he built up a partnership of 57 runs for the second wicket with Kritagya Singh within a period of 25 balls. The last ball of his innings saw Samarth dismissed by Zeeshan Ansari when they required two runs out of three balls remaining.

After that, Priyam Garg – who is Lucknow’s captain – walked into bat at number four and finished off the game by hitting a boundary off his very first ball. With only one ball left in this rain-affected match, Falcons won by eight wickets.
