The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the “ global trophy tour” of the ICC Champions Trophy ahead of the marquee event.
There’s no confirmation about the tournament’s future in Pakistan. It is because BCCI has said that the Indian team will not travel to Pakistan for the event. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) then said they don’t want a “hybrid model” for the tournament.
Reports were that PCB would withdraw from the tournament if the Champions Trophy moved out of Pakistan. Amidst all this, the ICC has announced the “trophy tour” of the silverware in all the participating nations ahead of the tournament.
The top 8 teams in the ICC ODI rankings are eligible to play in the tournament including the host nation.
