Lowest T20I score: Nigeria bowls over Ivory Coast for just 7 runs

Ivory Coast got bowled out for just 7 runs in a T20I match against Nigeria. It is the record-lowest score in men’s T20 international. 

This happened in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Sub Regional Qualifier 2024. It was the fifth match of the series, played at the Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket Oval in Nigeria. Nigeria won the toss and opted to bat. 

Opener and wicket-keeper Selim Salau scored 112 runs in 53 deliveries. He hit 13 fours and 2 sixes before retiring out. Sulaimon Runsewe scored 50 runs in 29 deliveries. Isaac Okpe scored a quickfire 65* off just 23 deliveries. 

Nigeria ended their innings at 271/4 in 20 overs. Pamba Dimitri and Kouakou Wilfried picked up one wicket each for Ivory Coast. 

Chasing a mammoth total of 271 runs, Ivory Coast got bowled out for just 7 runs in 7.3 overs. The highest score for them was 4 runs from opener Ouattara Mohamed. They didn’t even hit a single boundary in their innings.

Nigeria’s skipper Isaac Danladi and Prosper Useni picked up 3 wickets each. Peter Aho picked up 2 wickets with Sylvester Okpe picking up one wicket. 6 Ivory Coast batters got out for a duck

Ivory Coast with record lowest score in men’s T20Is

This was the lowest team total in the men’s T20I history. Before Ivory Coast, Mongolia and Isle of Man had the joint-lowest team total of 10 runs in men’s T20Is. 

Mongolia got bowled out for 10 against Singapore and Spain bundled out Isle of Man for 10 runs. Mongolia has three of the top 5 lowest team totals in men’s T20I cricket.
