In an unfortunate incident, a Pune cricketer passes away during a match due to a cardiac arrest after complaints of chest pain.
Imran Patel, a 35-year-old professional cricketer lost his life due to cardiac arrest during a game in Pune. The incident happened during a match between Lucky Builders and Young XI at the Garware Stadium in Pune.
Imran opened the batting for the Lucky Builders. He complained of chest pain after hitting a four on the last ball of the sixth over. He took off his gloves and rubbed his chest.
The batter then told the umpires about the chest pain. Some of the fielders were seen talking to him during all this. Imran tried to continue batting but was unable to do so because of the immense pain. He can be seen shaking his left arm assuming a potential muscle injury.
Pune cricketer had no medical history
After all this, Imran decided to walk off the field. But, while walking back to the field he collapsed as the fielders ran towards him. He was then rushed to the hospital and the doctors declared him dead.
Another cricketer, Naseer Khan said, “He didn’t have a history of any medical condition”.
He was in good physical condition. In fact, he was an allrounder who loved the game. We’re all still in shock”, he further added.
Imran Patel owned a cricket team and ran a juice shop. He also had a real estate business. He has a wife and three daughters in his family with the youngest daughter being only 4 months old.
A huge crowd turned up for his last rites at the Maulana Azad College on Wednesday (27th November 2024). A similar incident happened that too in Pune on 7th September. Cricketer Habib Sheikh passed away while playing a match.
