India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav introduces the two new additions two the Indian T20I squad in a unique way. Pacer Vyshak Vijaykumar and all-rounder Ramandeep Singh are latest additions in the Indian T20I side. India will be against South Africa for a 4-match T20I series.
In a video shared by the BCCI, Suryakumar Yadav became a chef and introduced two new dishes (players) to the menu (team). He introduced the players like “dishes” with their qualities being the “indegredeints” of the dishes.
He first introduced pacer Vyshak Vijaykumar. Yadav said that the 27 year old is a dhaasu (amazing) fast bowler. The captain said the pacer had all the qualities that a fast bowler has. Such as agile, fast, intelligent and strong.
While introducing Ramandeep Singh, the Indian T20I captain explained his qualities like patience and self-belief. Vijaykumar plays for Karnataka and for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL.
Ramandeep Singh plays for Punjab in the domestic circuit. He was part of the Mumbai Indians earlier and then the Kolkata Knight Riders picked him ahead of IPL 2024. He also impressed in the recently concluded T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Oman.
Ramandeep Singh is a hard-hitting batter and bowls right-arm medium. He has a career strike rate of 170 after 37 T20 matches. Meanwhile, Vyshak Vijaykumar has played 11 matches for RCB. He has 13 wickets to his name
“Want to play without fear:” Suryakumar Yadav
India defeated South Africa by 61 runs in the first T20I. Sanju Samson scored a brilliant century and the bowlers, especially the two spinners did a great job. Both Varun Chakaravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi picked up 3 wickets each.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav said at the post match presentation that they want to play without fear. “The brand of cricket we play, even if we lose a few wickets, we want to play without fear”, he said.
India has now taken a 1-0 lead in the 4-match series. The 2nd T20I will be played at the St George’s Park in Gqeberha on 10th November 2024.
