Here’s a look at all the teams, their current standings and their best possible finish in the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle.
South Africa: The proteas are currently number 1 in the WTC 2023-25 cycle. They have a 63.33% points percentage and have a series left against Pakistan. Their best possible finish is 69.44% and they are most probably to play in the WTC final if they can defeat Pakistan in the upcoming two tests.
Australia: Australia is number 2 in the WTC points table. They recently won the second BGT test against India. They are at 60.71% and their best possible finish is 67.65%. The Aussies have a two-match series in Sri Lanka next year. Australia a great chance of reaching the WTC final.
India: India’s loss in the 2nd BGT test has affected their chances of qualifying for the final. They are at 57.29% and their best possible finish is 64.04%. They have to win the remaining three games of the ongoing BGT series to ensure a qualification.
Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka is at 45.45% with a series left against Australia. They lost to South Africa 2-0 and their best possible finish is 61.54%. They’ll have to win both tests against Australia to be in the race for the finals.
England (45.24%), New Zealand (44.23%), Pakistan (33.33%), Bangladesh (31.25%) and West Indies (2.24%) are all out of contention to reach the final of the ICC World Test Championship in June 2025.
