Former Indian pacer Ashish Nehra has said that even INR 520 crore wouldn’t be enough for Jasprit Bumrah in the IPL auction.
It has been more than a week since the IPL 2025 mega auction. Nehra is the head coach of the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League. The first Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 test at Perth ended with the IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah on 24-25 November.
India won the first test by a huge margin of 295 runs. Jasprit Bumrah led the side from the front in the test match and was awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ award.
Speaking to Star Sports during the IPL 2025 mega auction, Nehra jokingly said that even INR 520 crore wouldn’t be enough if Bumrah entered the IPL auction.
He said, “Agar jassi auction main hote to kya kya hota? 520 crore ka bhi purse kam padta. (If Jasprit Bumrah was a part of the auction then what would have happened? Even a purse of INR 520 crore wouldn’t have been enough).
Jasprit Bumrah has done it numerous times: Ashish Nehra
The former left-arm pacer hailed Bumrah for his match-winning performance at Perth. He said that Bumrah had done it numerous times. He also talked about his captaincy in Rohit’s absence.

“Bumrah has done it numerous times. He was leading the side as Rohit Sharma was not there, and he was under pressure. But Bumrah handled everything, and he should be praised for it”.
“It was good to see a captain leading from the front knowing what happened in the previous series against New Zealand”, he further added.
The Gujarat Titans head coach concluded by highlighting the uncertainties of the game. He said, “Did anyone ever think that we would lose against New Zealand 3 – 0 at home? Did anyone think that we would win the Perth Test like this after being bowled out for 150 ? It is a great achievement”.
