Bangladesh U19 team defeated India by 59 runs in the final of the ACC U19 Asia Cup 2024. They were the defending champions of the tournament and retained their title.
The final was played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on 8th December 2024. India U19 won the toss and opted to bowl first. The bowlers did a great job as they restricted Bangladesh to 198 runs in 49.1 overs.
Batting first, Bangladesh lost their first wicket for 17 runs in the 7th over. Yudhajit Guha bowled Kalam Siddiki Aleen (1 run) to get the first breakthrough. Zawad Abrar (20 runs) and skipper Azizul Hakim Tamim (16 runs) scored 24 runs between them.
After that, Mohammed Shihab James (40 runs) and Mohammad Rizwan Hossan (47 runs) scored crucial 62 runs between them. At 128-4, Bangladesh lost 4 wickets for just 39 runs. Farid Hasan Fayal scored 39 runs. His 30-run partnership with Maruf Mridha (11* runs) was very important in the context of the game.
Yudhajit Guha, Chetan Sharma and Hardik Raj picked up 2 wickets each for India U19. Kiran Chormale, KP Karthikeya and Ayush Mhatre picked up one wicket each.
A flop show from India U19 batters against Bangladesh U19
Chasing 199 runs, India got off to a poor start. They lost Ayush Mhatre (1 run) in the 2nd over and Vaibhav Suryavanshi (9 runs) in the 5th over. Then Andre C Siddharth (20 runs) and KP Karthikeya (21 runs) scored 20 runs between them.

India lost Karthikeya and Nikhil Kumar (duck) in the same over. They kept losing wickets frequently and none of the batters seemed to get going. Skipper Mohammed Amaan (26 runs) and Hardik Raj (24 runs) showed a little fight but failed to score big.
India were 73-3 at one point but they lost the next three wickets for just 8 runs. They eventually got bowled out for 139 runs, losing the game by 59 runs. Iqbal Hossain Emon and Azizul Hakim Tamim picked up 3 wickets each for Bangladesh U19. Al Fahad picked up 2 wickets with Maruf Mridha and Md Rizan Hossan picking up one wicket each.
