Harshit Rana and Shubman Gill help India win the pink ball warm up match against Prime Minister’s XI. The two-day match was reduced to a one-day match after the first day got washed out due to rain. The match was played at the Manuka Oval in Canberra.
India opted to bowl after winning the toss. Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep gave a solid start to the Indian side. They picked up 2 wickets in the first six overs. Opener Sam Konstas scored a brilliant century (107 runs) and was the best batter for his side.
Konstas alongside Jack Clayton (40 runs) scored 109 runs between them. The Indian bowlers, especially Harshit Rana came back strongly and initiated a batting collapse. The Prime Minister’s XI were 131-3 and ended up at 138-7 in just 3 overs. They ended up 240 in 43.2 overs. Harshit Rana picked up all 4 wickets.
Hanno Jacobs scored 60 runs and his 67-run partnership with Konstas helped the hosts to a respectable total.

Harshit Rana was the best Indian bowler with 4 wickets. Akash Deep picked up 2 with Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, Prasidh Krishna and Washington Sundar picking up one wicket each.
Chasing 240 runs in 46 overs, India got off to a great start. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul continued their good form. Jaiswal scored 45 and Rahul got retired out for 27 runs. Shubman Gill showed his class with a fifty after missing the first test.
Skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed for just 3 runs. Nitish Kumar Reddy (42 runs) and Washington Sundar (42* runs) also impressed with the bat. Ravindra Jadeja scored 27 runs. India scored 257-5 in their 46 overs.
Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumran, Rishabh Pant and Ravichandran Ashwin didn’t participate in the match. The 2nd test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will start on 6th December at the Adelaide Oval. India leads the series 1-0.
