St. Lucia Kings’ wicket-keeper batter Tim Seifert dealt a significant blow to Mohammed Amir in their recent match against the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. The St. Lucia Kings won by seven wickets, dealing Chris Green’s team their fourth consecutive defeat.
In their first innings, the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons could only manage to score 142 runs, losing 7 wickets. As for help with run chases, Seifert came in at a time when Faf du Plessis’s team had already scored 116 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 12 overs. All Seifert had to do was finish things off, and he did that so brilliantly; which also improved the team’s net run rate in the beginning of this tournament.
After giving away 21 runs in his first three overs, Amir reached for the ball ahead of the 17th over. Seifert welcomed him with two consecutive sixes before adding another boundary. Some singles were allowed when he changed to around the wicket but then again, he lost another six off the last ball thus making it 24 runs off that over.

Amir’s final figures for the match were 0-45, continuing his tough season. He has managed just one wicket in four games with an economy rate of 10.25.
Mohammed Amir recently allowed four boundaries in an over against Dwaine Pretorius
During the recent encounter with Guyana Amazon Warriors, the left-arm pacer had been made responsible for defending 16 runs from the final over. He was going against South African Dwaine Pretorius at that moment in Antigua after the defending champions made a comeback out of nowhere.
Nonetheless, Amir’s attempt to keep the score for his side was futile. He had already conceded three fours off the first five balls and there were only four left to win from it’s last delivery. The Proteas all-rounder responded by hitting a huge six over long-off in reply to Amir’s full and wide ball thereby winning a nail-biting match for his team.
In their previous encounter against Barbados Royals, Antigua & Barbuda Falcons had Amir as one of their most expensive bowlers. He gave away 44 runs without taking a wicket in merely 3.3 overs during an unfortunate nine wicket loss in Antigua.
