Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant having a great time financially. A few days ago he became the most expensive player in the IPL history. Lucknow Super Giants bought Pant for a whopping INR 27 crores.
After this deal, the wicket-keeping batter became the highest-paid cricketer. He surpassed big names like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in terms of annual income from salary. Pant has a Grade B contract with the BCCI which pays him INR 3 crores per annum. Now with his INR 27 crores salary from the IPL, he gets a combined salary of INR 30 crores.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are in A+ contract with the BCCI. It pays each of INR 7 crores per annum. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru retaining Virat Kohli for INR 21 crores fetches him a combined salary to INR 28 crores.
Rohit Sharma has been retained by the Mumbai Indians for INR 16.30 crores. His annual combined salary is INR 23.30 crores. Pant with his 30 crores salary surpassed both of them.
Rishabh Pant likely to get A+ Contract from BCCI
Rishabh Pant represents the national side in all three formats of the game. He’s likely to get a hike in salary from the BCCI. Pant is expected to get promoted to the A+ category which will pay him INR 7 crores annually.
If this happens, his combined salary will increase from INR 30 crores to INR 34 crores. The left-hand batter has been an integral part of the Indian cricket team since his return to international cricket earlier this year.
BCCI has 4 types of contracts for the players. They are A+, A, B and C. Players in Grade A+ get an annual salary of INR 7 crores. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja have A+ contracts from the BCCI.
Similarly, Grade A gets INR 5 crores, Grade B gets INR 3 crores and Grade C gets INR 1 crore per annum from the board.
