The BBL franchises did select several notable players like West Indian batsman Shai Hope, England’s opener Ben Duckett and kiwi pacer Lockie Ferguson during the International draft held in Melbourne today.

Amongst them he was the first one who was selected in a round one of the draft by Melbourne stars while James Vince was next to him who signed under Sydney sixers.

In Round One, Lockie Ferguson, Colin Munro and Finn Allen were also other Kiwis signed. The only West Indian on this list was Shai Hope who joined Ricky Ponting at Hobart Hurricanes.

There were many English players in Round Two including Tom Curran who had been reaffirmed as a pre-signed for Melbourne stars. Jacob Bethell England’s latest T20 sensation was picked up by Melbourne Renegades. Ollie Pope went with Adelaide Strikers; Chris Jordan joined Hobart Hurricanes while Sam Billings played on Thursday for Sydney Thunder respectively.

This year would be Pope’s debut season in BBL. As such Akeal Hosein used to play for Melboure Renegades but now he would be joining Sydney Sixers instead.

Fabian Allen and Sherfane Rutherford will bring additional Caribbean flair to the 2024-25 BBL season

For the third round, Sherfane Rutherford and Fabian Allen, both all-rounders from West Indies, were great choices for Sydney Thunder and Adelaide Strikers respectively. The last name in the round was Usama Mir from Pakistan who was picked to play for Melbourne Stars.
