Todd Greenberg has been announced as the new CEO of Cricket Australia. He will replace the current CEO Nick Hockley in March 2025.
Hockley joined as the CEO of Cricket Australia in 2021 and will be completing his 5 years as the Chief Executive Officer for Cricket Australia.
Nick Hockley announced his resignation back in August. He got into a dispute with a major Australian TV network over cricket broadcasting rights. The Englishman also received heat and criticism during David Warner’s plea to overturn the leadership ban.
Cricket Australia’s Chairman Mike Baird thanked the current CEO Nick Hockley. He said, “I would like to thank Nick Hockley who will leave the game in a position of great strength at the end of the season with important foundations including our broadcast rights deal, MOU and seven-year content strategy in place
I’m Delighted Todd Greenwood will join Cricket Australia as CEO: CA Chairman
Cricket Australia’s Chairman Mike Baird said that he’s delighted that Greenwood is joining as the CEO. He also talked about Greenwood’s experience in the National Rugby League. And his position the CEO of the Australian Cricketer’s Association.
Baird said, “I’m delighted Todd Greenberg will join Cricket Australia as Chief Executive Officer”.
“Todd will bring enormous experience to the role from his time leading the National Rugby League. Also his current position as CEO of the Australian Cricketers’ Association, as well as his time in club and stadium management”, he further added.
Baird continued, “He is also a renowned driver of commercial growth and innovation. Bringing the State of Origin to Melbourne and introducing the NRLW”.
He concluded with, “We are entering a period of great opportunity and the recruitment panel. CA Board was enormously impressed by Todd’s passion for cricket. His vision to build on the achievements of the past few years and continue the game’s growth”.
