As per emerging reports, trouble seems to be brewing within Virender Sehwag’s family. Not all is shaping up well between former Indian cricketer and his better half Aarti Ahlawat. The couple had very recently unfollowed each other on Instagram which has led many to believe that they may be heading on the path of a possible divorce.
Both Sehwag and Aarti have been married for over 20 years but have been living separately for several months now. The two tied the knot in 2004 and are blessed with two sons named Aryavir and Vedant. On January 23, several reports pointed out that there is a rift between the two, and a divorce could be imminent.
Besides, fans have also noticed that the Indian opener does not have his wife’s image in his social media photos which further solidifies the claims of their possible separation. However, the couple has not issued any public announcements or responded to the divorce rumors but one thing is definitely clear not all is well in Sehwag’s personal life.
A look at Sehwag’s illustrious international career
Looking away from his personal life, Sehwag was a dynamite on the field of play. During his prime playing days, he was regarded as a batting powerhouse at the top of the order who could bowl off-spin occasionally. With 8586 runs in 104 Tests averaging nearly 50 with 23 hundreds and 32 fifties, Sehwag became India’s second-best opener in Test cricket.
One of his most famous exploits from the longest format includes a marathon triple century which he achieved in Multan during the 2004 Test where he smoked Pakistan’s ace spinner Saqlain Mushtaq to all parts in what turned out to be his final international match of his career. Then subsequently in 2008, he registered his third triple ton against a mighty Proteas bowling lineup thus entering an elite list of players to have two triple centuries in Tests.
