As the anticipation for the upcoming Champions Trophy looms large, the former legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni was seen in a recent promo launched by Star Sports aimed at promoting the eight-team marquee event starting in mid-February. Much to the delight of the fans, Dhoni made a long-awaited appearance on the screen.
Dhoni, famously dubbed Captain Cool, was seen seated in icy cold conditions in the commercial which was very much in line with his calm and soothing outlook. In the ad, Dhoni highlights the competitive edge of the tournament by issuing a captivating statement as mentioned below:
“When I was the captain, remaining cool was easy. But becoming a fan and watching the ICC Champions Trophy? No.”

Captain Cool as a fan 🥵
With every match do-or-die in the #ChampionsTrophy, even @msdhoni needs a DRS (Dhoni Refrigeration System) to beat the heat! 👊

The ad aims to convey the fact that Dhoni always remained cool as a cucumber while captaining team India during his prime years. However, as a spectator, his tension seems to be going through the roof.
Dhoni rings alarm bells for Team India
Despite being a strong contender in the Champions Trophy, the World Cup-winning captain issues a strong message to the national side. With very little margin for error, Dhoni could be heard saying that even if we look strong on paper, one bad game can shut the doors once and for all.
“Even though our team is strong, even if we lose one match here, we are as good as eliminated.”

He further adds that every match is a do-or-die contest and one wrong move can lead them to the end of the road. Under Dhoni’s captaincy, India won the 2013 Champions Trophy title by knocking England out in the final. Then in 2017, India came close to lifting their second-consecutive CT title but were denied by Pakistan in the final courtesy of some breathtaking performances from Fakhar Zaman and Mohammed Amir.
