Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar met his childhood friend and former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli. Both met during a memorial event for their childhood coach Ramakant Achrekar.
Ramakant Achrekar was the coach and mentor of both Tendulkar and Kambli. Both were regarded as prodigies during their early days. Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli were 16 and 17 years old respectively when they had a world-record partnership of 664 runs during their school days.
Many former mentees of Ramakant Achrekar joined the memorial event in Mumbai. The likes of Paras Mambhrey, Pravin Amre, Balwinder Singh Sandhu, Samir Dighe, and Sanjay Bangar attended their former mentor’s memorial event.
Sachin meeting his former friend and teammate Kambli was the highlight of the event. Kambli was also considered to become a great batter but inconsistency and off-field issues halted his career. Kabli scored two double centuries in his first four test matches.
